During Financial Year 2019-2020, Jakson hosted a number of employee engagements including events for International Women’s Day, a Blood Donation Camp, World Environment Day, International Girl Child Day, Road Safety Week, Mother’s Day, and National Cleanliness Day. International Women’s Day was celebrated throughout the company with our team in Kalsar, Gujarat hosting a women’s medical camp, which provided free women’s hygiene products to the local community. The Jakson team in Noida, UP promoted an anti-plastic initiative by distributing 1000 jute bags in the local mall for World Environment Day. As part of the Mother’s Day celebration, Jakson partnered with the Laadli Foundation to host an educational camp in Greater Noida, UP, “Educate a Mother, Save a Girl Child.” This camp focused on safety, prevention of violence/abuse, personal/menstrual hygiene, and disease prevention. The Jakson team constantly strives to increase the number of employees participating in CSR events. The Jakson CSR Superstar Awards were developed as a way to recognize our team members from across the organization who consistently and whole-heartedly commit themselves to Jakson’s CSR initiatives.
The unprecedented challenges the entire world has faced during the COVID-19 pandemic has further shown the importance of supporting communities and those individuals in dire need of assistance. Throughout these trying and uncertain times Jakson has remained committed to continuing its philanthropic efforts and engaging its employees. Due to lockdowns and social distancing mandates, Jakson was unable to conduct its usual large-scale Employee Engagement events this year. That being said, the Jakson CSR Team was able to find creative ways to engage our employees for the benefit of our society. For World Environment Day 2020, the CSR team arranged an “Art from Waste” competition. Employees from across the company and their family members were invited to participate. All participants created a piece of art using waste materials and submitted a one minute video presenting their unique creation. Winners were recognized and presented with a prize. Jakson also celebrated The International Girl Child Day on 11th October 2020 by carrying a sanitation & hygiene drive for adolescents and young girls of the marginalised communities in Delhi. For the Joy of Giving during the month of October 2020, Jakson’s CSR team arranged a donation drive across slums in Noida. Employees participated by donating sanitizers, masks, clothes, and other necessities . Blanket donation drives were also conducted in December 2020 to help those below poverty line & slum dwellers combat harsh winters.
For several years, Jakson’s CSR initiatives have held a large focus on education for disadvantaged youth. During the lockdown period, schools throughout the country were closed for physical classes. In order to continue our mission to provide quality education, Jakson team members conducted number of Zoom sessions for children of all ages with some of our partner schools in Varanasi, UP; Noida, UP; and Phaltan, Maharashtra. Topics covered
during these sessions focused on life skills such as grooming, hygiene, etiquette, first aid and so forth. As the world looks to 2021 with hope that the COVID-19 pandemic will soon come to an end; the social and economic impacts of it will linger on for some time. Disadvantaged communities have been impacted the most and will require increased support. Jakson and all its team members remain committed to participating in large-scale efforts to make the world a better place to live for all.
